What Size BIBS Dummy Does My Baby Need?
BIBS dummies come from Denmark. The cherry-shaped teat and round, lightweight shield are designed to imitate the shape of a mother's breast. The shield faces away from your baby's face, so air still reaches the delicate skin around their mouth. The teat is vented, which means it flattens to the shape of your baby's mouth instead of staying rigid. And the round range alone comes in 31 colours.
The question we get asked most is which size to buy.
BIBS recommend
- Size 1 — 0+ months
- Size 2 — 6+ months
- Size 3 — 18+ months
- Onesize — 0+ months, used on the De Lux range
They also state: "All sizes can be introduced from birth. Age and size indications are therefore only a guide."
If you're not sure which size your baby is ready for, send us a message — we'd rather you asked than guessed.
Size is only half the question
Teat shape is the other half. BIBS make three — round, symmetrical and anatomical — and say it can be necessary to try different shapes to find the right fit for your baby. The BIBS Try It Pack has one of each.
For the longer read on shapes, shields and which style suits which baby, see our guide to which BIBS size and style to choose.
