Macrame Dummy Clips – Personalised Dummy Chains

The twist is braided by hand from luxurious cotton, 1.5cm wide, and finished with a loop end — so it will attach to any dummy.

At 17 grams, about the weight of three grapes, it's light enough that it won't pull the dummy from your baby's mouth.

Two colourways: natural ivory and blush. Etch your baby's name into the wooden clip, choose one of our designs, or leave it plain.

What it's made from

Hand braided from luxurious cotton in our twist style, 1.5cm wide, with a loop end to attach the dummy.

The clip is strong stainless steel with plastic teeth so it grips clothing without damaging it. Metal components are imported from Germany. The wooden top is flat and smooth for laser etching, and left raw — no paint, no varnish.

Macrame is slow. Each twist is worked by hand by one of our team members, which is why there are two colourways rather than thirty.

The business started in 2015, when Susan made a dummy clip for her son Ollie. She was a nurse on maternity leave and couldn't find one that wasn't too bulky for a newborn. Everything we make still comes from that.

Safety

Our completed dummy chains have been independently laboratory tested and certified as passing EN 12586:2007 + A1:2011, Child use and care articles — soother holder, the standard recommended by the Australian and European competition and consumer commissions.

A braided chain has to be tested for stretch as well as strength, because the length is measured under tension — no dummy chain may exceed 22cm. Ours is made to sit inside that limit once braided. You can read how the testing works here, and Australian legislation and safety standards are here.
